HISTORY
Wembrook Builders started trading in 1980 when two brothers Tom & John Gudgeon started doing small repairs and building alterations. Even small domestic extensions were too large for us in them days. Each year we progressed and grew, taking on larger & larger projects. We learnt new techniques, new products, faced changing requirements and conquering new challenges. In 1984 our brother Paul Gudgeon joined us, this gave us in house plumbing and heating expertise, and in 1986 the fourth brother Tim Gudgeon joined us offering good substructure and civil expertise. We now had a very experienced formidable team lead by a motivated responsible management structure that has a desire to keep standards high and constantly improving. Today (31 years later) we are builders with a very good reputation & massive experience. In addition to the actual construction, we are able to provide advice on best practices, designs, costs, contracts, party walls, health & safety, energy & efficiently, and much more. We pride ourselves with often being the Principle Contractor, meeting demanding programmes, using our organisation management skills, bringing in the differing trades in the correct sequence. This enabled projects like the additional teaching space extension at King Edward College which was constructed from start to finish in 9 weeks. Many said it would be impossible, all proved wrong.

Whilst the type of building was mostly domestic in the early days, we are now very knowledgeable in all types of construction. In foundations we have used traditional strip, trench fill, piles, pads, & rafts, including stabilizing the ground and grouting old mine workings. In building structures we have experience in brickwork, block work, concrete, metal frame, metal clad and insulated panel. Our completed projects include extensions, houses, churches, offices, school buildings and swimming pools. The value of our projects would be from just a few hundred pounds to £1.6m.
I hope I have demonstrated that we are now able to tackle most projects, and would give you the assurance that we would treat your premises & project with the utmost respect.
